“Vacation rental villas are often priced at 20% less than the cheapest Disney Resort hotel room”. Yes, that’s an interesting factoid I picked up cruising the internet recently. So I checked it out and its true! It seems that some vacation rental home owners make a point of checking the prices of the cheapest Orlando Disney Resort hotels regularly and they adjust their tariffs in line with Disney’s seasonal pricing. The owner then takes 20% off the Disney price and rents their vacation home for that price! So why is that such a good deal besides providing  extremely cheap Disney vacations??

Well – the average vacation rental home is has 3, 4 or 5 bedrooms and some have even more. They range from 1500 to over 3500 sq ft of accommodation. The Disney Hotel rooms that are being compared have only one room and about 400 sq ft of living area.

It strange then that so few people have even heard of the benefits of renting a vacation home. Not only can you have the same accommodation as you would at home but a vacation rental has even more hidden benefits. For example, almost without exception, vacation rental homes near Disney have private pools and private pool decks. These are generally combined with a generous outdoor eating area equipped with sun loungers tables and chairs.

And it doesn’t stop inside. The master suite is always en suite and there are sometimes two master suites – probably with 6 foot beds. All these homes have either cable or satellite TV and many have a TV in each bedroom so everyone can have their choice! Oh yes – everyone can have their own room – after all you don’t all live in one bedroom at home so why would you want to do that on your vacation??

The benefits don’t stop there either. Fancy a midnight snack – try that in a budget hotel. Get dressed, try to get out of the room without waking the whole family…. you know the story. In your vacation rental, just sneak down to the kitchen and help yourself to whatever you fancy! You’re happy and so is everyone else because they’re still asleep!!

Did I mention the laundry facilities?? How many of us have needed to get some clean clothes during a vacation?? Its easy in a vacation rental – there’s a washer and drier available and you won’t have to pay a penny extra for it.

The list of benefits goes on and on. And all for 20% less than a basic hotel room? You’d be mad not to try one!

1. Not all ticket plans are the same in every package, so check to make sure what ticket plan you’re getting. For example, one package might contain a Magic Your Way with Dining pass, while another might contain a Magic Your Way Park Hopper pass. Each ticket package is different, and they all have different costs, so make sure you’re not paying top dollar for a pass that’s not worth as much.

2. Make sure the hotel rooms are comparable. Some low-cost packages may be offering hotels that are sub-standard or worse. Make sure to check out the hotel before you purchase a package, and find out how the hotel is rated by other guests, too.

3. Find out how far the hotel is from the park. If you have to rent a car to get from your hotel to the Disney park, your vacation package may not be the bargain it seems to be.

4. Ask if there are hidden costs like fuel surcharges, ticket delivery fees, and so on. It may not be such a good deal if these fees begin to add up.

5. What happens if you have to cancel your vacation due to an emergency or other reason? Many packages come with hefty service fees if you have to cancel, so make sure you know how much it costs to cancel your package, just in case.

6. Find out if you can add on an extra night to your package at a lower rate. Many packages allow you to customize your stay according to how long you want to stay, how many are in your party, and what parks you want to include in your visit. Often, adding an extra day is a cheaper way to extend your vacation on a budget.

7. Tell your travel agent you’re celebrating a special event during your trip. Disney offers special “celebration” vacations for everything from family reunions to birthdays, so let them know you’re planning a special celebration during your visit to the park.

A little planning and comparing vacation packages can help your Disney adventure be as memorable as possible. Find the best Disney vacation package for your family, and then go experience the “Happiest Place on Earth!”

A vacation to Walt Disney World is one your whole family will remember forever. And it is an especially exiting trip for children. But if you’re in the dark about how to purchase an affordable Disney World vacation package, you may be a little intimidated by the cost. There is a way to plan your travels so that you  don’t overspend.  Here are some tips on planning your Disney World family vacation hassle-free.

The first thing to consider is hotel accommodations. Where do you want to stay during your vacation? There are expensive all-star resorts and more moderately priced hotels; whatever you prefer depends on your budget.

Maybe you want to stay at a hotel that offers breakfast with Disney characters. There are several helpful guidebooks that can fill you in on the best attractions and foods Disney World has to offer and they usually include information about the various expenses you’ll incur at different restaurants and which character meals are a favorite among Disney visitors.

Also, before setting off, buy inexpensive Disney themed merchandise. This way, you can give your kids a souvenir at the end of each day, rather than buying costly items inside the resort. You may also want to look into purchasing an ‘E-ticket,’ which allows you three extra hours to spend in the park after the normal closing time – no long lines from the daytime, but the same fun!

Walt Disney World is an adventurous, vast place – roaming around the park can be exhausting.  Adults may want to take an afternoon break at the hotel and the kids may need a nap or a relaxing swim. Baby care is also a major concern. Disney World is prepared for the needs of small children; the resort offers a wide variety of childcare and there are many places where a parent can change, nurse, and feed his or her baby (high chairs are even available). If young children will be traveling with you, a stroller is a must. You can bring one yourself or rent one at the park.

Other ways Disney World is a great vacation spot for parents and their children is for many rides, there are two lines: one for an adult flying solo and another for an adult holding a baby or small child. At the end of the ride, the person who waited in the second line hands the little one off to the person who waited in the first and thus, rides the attraction as well. This phenomenon is called the ‘Baby Swap.’

Disney World offers so many awesome opportunities – it is much more than a simple theme park. And a Disney parade is a must-see. Make sure to invest in at least one night pass so you can watch a parade. Find out the best place to see your favorite Disney Characters ahead of time and plop down in that location well before the parade begins. The MGM Studios courtyard is a primo spot!

Walt Disney World is truly an unforgettable place to vacation to, and not just for the kids. If you plan ahead, you may create a memory your whole family will cherish.
