Right now may be one of the best times to get a great deal on a Disney vacation package for your family. But, how can you find the right vacation package deal that’s perfect for your family? Here are some tips to help you find the best vacation package for your Disney visit, and some of them may surprise you.
1. Not all ticket plans are the same in every package, so check to make sure what ticket plan you’re getting. For example, one package might contain a Magic Your Way with Dining pass, while another might contain a Magic Your Way Park Hopper pass. Each ticket package is different, and they all have different costs, so make sure you’re not paying top dollar for a pass that’s not worth as much.
2. Make sure the hotel rooms are comparable. Some low-cost packages may be offering hotels that are sub-standard or worse. Make sure to check out the hotel before you purchase a package, and find out how the hotel is rated by other guests, too.
3. Find out how far the hotel is from the park. If you have to rent a car to get from your hotel to the Disney park, your vacation package may not be the bargain it seems to be.
4. Ask if there are hidden costs like fuel surcharges, ticket delivery fees, and so on. It may not be such a good deal if these fees begin to add up.
5. What happens if you have to cancel your vacation due to an emergency or other reason? Many packages come with hefty service fees if you have to cancel, so make sure you know how much it costs to cancel your package, just in case.
6. Find out if you can add on an extra night to your package at a lower rate. Many packages allow you to customize your stay according to how long you want to stay, how many are in your party, and what parks you want to include in your visit. Often, adding an extra day is a cheaper way to extend your vacation on a budget.
7. Tell your travel agent you’re celebrating a special event during your trip. Disney offers special “celebration” vacations for everything from family reunions to birthdays, so let them know you’re planning a special celebration during your visit to the park.
